Diaryland really sucks these days compared to other blogging systems. The privacy settings are so binary - On, or Off. The guestbook site seems to be refusing all comments. You have to be a paid user to receive the other type of comments. Poor spam filtering on that Diaryland redirect email address (might have improved, but I wouldn't know since I send all that email straight to the bin and never see it). Hard core HTML entry instead of WYSIWYG. Rubbish, expensive, photo hosting which doesn't let the browser cache the pictures, so bandwidth is wasted downloading them again next time you go to that page.

I upped sticks ages ago, but tonight I just wanted to leave a message for someone and was reminded about how behind the times this site has become. Sorry, Andrew, you've put so much into running this site, and I'm quitting. I originally came here because it seemed to be the cool place for young people, and nobody I knew was on here, so I could speak freely. Now all my friends and I are on LiveJournal where I can speak freely to carefully selected audiences.

I am grateful for Diaryland helping me find Sandi, but she's moved on too!
